Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 5, 2026
Sphere Data Solutions Group, LLC, doing business as The Words Studio ("The Words Studio," "we," "us," or "our"), provides an online content-creation platform that helps you write, refine, and manage content (the "Service"), available at thewords.studio and app.thewords.studio.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you create an account, use the Service, or otherwise interact with us in connection with The Words Studio.
Scope of this Policy. This Policy applies only to The Words Studio. It does not apply to the separate identity-resolution services or other brands operated by Sphere Data Solutions Group, LLC, which are governed by their own privacy policies. The Words Studio offers an optional, anonymous content-analytics script that customers may place on their own websites; it is described in Section 10 and cannot identify individual visitors. The Words Studio does not perform identity resolution and does not sell or share your personal information for advertising. See Sections 10 and 4.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and may collect your business or organization name and your role.
Billing information. When you subscribe to a paid plan or purchase credits, payment is processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your payment card details; we do not store full payment card numbers. We retain limited billing records such as your plan, transaction history, billing status, and the partial card identifiers Stripe provides to us.
Content you create and submit. The Service is built for you to create content. We collect and store the material you provide and generate through the Service, which may include briefs and prompts, brand and voice information you supply (such as writing samples and voice profiles), drafts, generated text, generated images, and related project material (collectively, "Customer Content").
Communications. If you contact us for support or otherwise, we collect the information in your messages and our correspondence with you.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we and our infrastructure providers automatically collect certain technical information needed to operate and secure the Service, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and log and usage data such as the features you use, actions you take, and the dates and times of access.
1.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for purposes that are limited to operating the Service, such as keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences (including your light or dark theme setting), maintaining security, and understanding basic product usage so we can improve the Service.
We do not use cookies for cross-site or cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not allow third-party advertising networks to track you through the Service. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may prevent the Service from functioning properly (for example, you may not be able to stay signed in). The optional content-analytics script described in Section 10 does not use cookies; it stores a random identifier in the visitor's browser local storage on the customer's own website.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including generating, scoring, and refining content at your direction;
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- Process your subscription, credits, payments, and trials, and send related billing and transactional messages;
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- Monitor, secure, and improve the Service, including troubleshooting, testing, and developing features;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and
- Send you service-related notices and, where permitted, product communications (you can opt out of non-essential communications at any time).
3. How We Process Customer Content and AI
The Service uses artificial-intelligence tools to generate and refine content. To provide these features, your Customer Content (such as a brief, a draft, or a voice sample) is transmitted to and processed by the third-party AI providers that power the Service, including our content-generation provider (Anthropic) and our content-detection provider (Originality.ai). This processing happens solely to deliver the features you request and return results to you.
We do not use your Customer Content to train our own models, and we do not sell your Customer Content. Our AI subprocessors process your Customer Content under their own terms and on our behalf to provide the Service.
You retain ownership of your Customer Content, as described in our Terms of Service.
4. How We Disclose Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as follows:
4.1 Service Providers (Subprocessors)
We share information with third-party companies that perform services on our behalf and process information only to provide services to us. These currently include:
- Stripe: payment processing and billing;
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Simple Email Service (SES): transactional email delivery and related infrastructure;
- Neon: database hosting (storage of account data and Customer Content);
- Cloudflare: content delivery, security, and object storage (including generated images via Cloudflare R2);
- Anthropic: AI content generation; and
- Originality.ai: AI-content detection and scoring.
4.2 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, to enforce our Terms and policies, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Words Studio, our users, or others.
4.3 Business Transfers
We may disclose or transfer information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, or in the event of insolvency or bankruptcy.
4.4 With Your Consent
We may disclose information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and Customer Content for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated Customer Content as described in Section 7. We may retain limited records (such as billing and transaction history) as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes, and we may retain de-identified or aggregated information indefinitely.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or misuse, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar U.S. state laws), subject to certain exceptions. These may include the right to:
- Access / Know the personal information we hold about you;
- Delete personal information we have collected from you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information; and
- Be free from discrimination for exercising your rights.
No sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" is necessary for The Words Studio.
How to exercise your rights. Contact us at support@spheredsg.com or by mail at the address in Section 11. Please include enough detail for us to understand and respond to your request, and the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business users and is not directed to anyone under 18 years of age. You must be at least 18 to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, contact us at support@spheredsg.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. International Users
We are based in the United States, and the Service is intended for users in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States.
10. Content Analytics
The Words Studio includes an optional analytics feature. If you turn it on, you place a small script on your own website. It measures how the content you publish performs: page views, how long readers stay, how far they scroll, which traffic sources send readers who actually read. That is the entire purpose. It tells you how your content is doing, never who is reading it.
Here is exactly what the script collects from a visitor to your site:
- The page they viewed (its address and title) and the page that referred them
- Scroll depth and time on the page
- Campaign tags (UTM parameters) if they were on the link the visitor clicked
- Screen width, so you can see whether your content works on phones
- A random identifier, created by the browser itself, so repeat visits can be counted without knowing anything about the person
Here is what the script itself never collects and never does. These are design guarantees, not policy preferences. The script has no fields, code paths, or ability to do the following:
- No identity resolution. Nothing connects a visitor to a name, email, company, household, or profile, and nothing ever will. We built the script so that this is impossible, not merely switched off.
- No cookies. The script does not read or write cookies at all.
- No fingerprinting. No canvas, font, plugin, or hardware inspection. Screen width is the only device signal, and it cannot identify anyone.
- No IP address storage. Visitor IP addresses are never written to our database.
- No third-party calls. The script talks to exactly one endpoint, ours. Visitor data is never sent to, shared with, or enriched by any other service, including any other product our parent company operates.
Separately, here is our guarantee about how we use the anonymous, per-visit data we do store (the random identifier described above and the events tied to it). We do not offer a per-visitor view. Dashboards show totals and per-article numbers only. There is no screen, report, or export in the product that lets anyone look up a single visitor's activity, and we will not build one.
Two practical notes for customers who install the script. First, you are responsible for your own site's privacy disclosures; we recommend a sentence in your policy noting that you use anonymous, aggregate content analytics, and you are welcome to link to this section. Second, depending on your jurisdiction, anonymous analytics may still require disclosure in your cookie or consent notices even though no cookies are used, because the script stores its random identifier in the browser's local storage. When in doubt, disclose.
10.1 Analytics on our own website
We use the same script on thewords.studio, under the same guarantees. We measure our own content the way you would measure yours, and we see the same anonymous, aggregate numbers about our visitors that you would see about yours. Nothing more.
10.2 The plain-language summary
We sell content analytics that respect the reader. If a competitor's product answers "who visited your site," ours answers "which of your articles are worth reading." We think that is the only version of analytics a content company should be proud to run, and it is the only version we will ever build.
11. Changes to This Policy and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date, and if changes are material we may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the revised Policy.
